The Face à Face quartet is composed of 4 musicians with strong and sensitive artistic personalities. Coming from the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris with many first prizes, all four are linked by a passion for the modern and contemporary repertoire. Their musical and human complicity is evident in both their playing and their choice of repertoire.
Their performances are always distinguished by a strong identity, with a spectacular aura.

The Face à Face quartet is invited to the biggest national and european stages: festivals in Aix-en-Provence, Perros-Guirec, Percumania in Paris, Manca in Nice, Piano Campus, festival of the Society of Contemporary Music in Lausanne And the Alterego Festival in Vevey (Switzerland), the Riba Roja International Festival in Spain, the Young Soloists Festival at the Mogador Theater in Paris and the Madrid National Auditorium.

Very involved in the creation of repertoires for two pianos and percusssions, the Face à Face quartet collaborates regularly with composers to carry out multidisciplinary and pedagogical projects among which : the children’s opera « L’Enfant et la Nuit » from Franck Villard (Académie de Villecroze) and the opera « Un Retour » from Oscar Strasnoy, commissioned by the Aix-en-Provence festival and the Ensemble Musicatreize.

The quartet is also invited to perform on the France Musique Radio, the Spanish National Radio and on the Arte channel.

In 2016, the Face à Face quartet was invited to perform at the Musical Moments of Touraine and at the Radio France Festival in Montpellier for the creation of an opera from Isabelle Aboulker.
Concert engagements of the current season( 2018) include their Bernstein program at the new auditorium from the Seine Musicale in Paris.

Mara Dobresco, piano
Mara Dobresco has been the winner of numerous international competitions. She gives recitals in Europe, South America, Asia and United States. She also performs with orchestras in Europe. Mara Dobresco pursues her career as a soloist and, at the same time, is interested in the dramatic character of musical gestures; she takes part in numerous projects based on the links between theatre, literature and music. Her meeting with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and György Kurtag enabled her to discover the wealth of the contemporary repertoire and she has been exploring it ever since. Besides, she is practising the pianoforte under the teaching of Patrick Cohen and regularly gives concerts on this instrument.
Her record, devoted to the music of Clara and Robert Schumann (Longdistance Label) has met with unanimous acclaim from the critics.

Géraldine Dutroncy, piano

After studying at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique” in Paris where she won three first prizes (piano, chamber music, accompaniment), Géraldine Dutroncy distinguished herself by winning several international prizes, as a soloist as well as a chamber muiscian. Passionately fond of contemporary music, accustomed to the most famous French and foreign stages, very much in demand from many composers, she performs with symphony orchestras (Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National de Montpellier) and with prestigious ensembles such as the Court-Circuit Ensemble (the recording of the piano concerto by Marc Monnet has come out at Zig-Zag Territoires), the Itinéraire Ensemble, the Klangforum Wien and mainly the Ensemble Intercontemporain with which she often goes on tours.

Hélène Colombotti, percussions
Hélène Colombotti has carried out her musical path under the teaching of M.Cerutti, F.Macarez, F.Jodelet, E.Sammut and R.Quellen. She won her prize at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique” in Paris where she then pursued her studies at an advanced level and gained the “Avant-Scène”. She was also a finalist in the ARD competition in Munich. She appears with groups such as the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Ensembles Court-Circuit, SIC, TM+, Alternance, Musicatreize, and the Easter Festival in Deauville. For three years she has been working with Myriam Gourfink at the Royaumont Abbey within the scope of Transforme. Her mobilization for contemporary music and her ardent desire to work with today’s composers led her to become a member of the Mulitilatérale, Diagonal and Sillages Ensembles.

Elisa Humanes, percussions
Elisa Humanes got her degrees at the Real Conservatorio Superior in Madrid and the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique” in Paris where she carried on with her studies at a postgraduate level. She was offered a grant by the Tarrazi and Meyer Foundations and studies with J.Guillem (Spain), L.H.Stevens (United States), K.Hathway (Great-Britain), S.Gualda, M.Gastaud, F.Brana, E.Sammut, M.Cerutti, F.Jodelet and F.Stochl (France). She appears with several symphony orchestras in Spain, France and Switzerland; member of the Ensemble Musica Universalis she regularly cooperates with the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the Ars Nova, Zellig, TM+ and L’Itinéraire Ensembles. As a soloist she often gives recitals and received the Interpretation Prize at the Collège d’Espagne in Paris. Her CD of contemporary music (“Entra Libra y Escorpio”) came out in May 2007. She teaches percussion at the CRD of Issy-Les-Moulineaux where she gives classes as a fully-qualified professor of the Territorial Civil Service.
